Since its formation, Mission Heal has greatly developed to
become not only a national but an international NGO looking into the welfare of
the entire society and helping the needy and less privileged lead a decent life
just like their fellow beings. Being a non-profit making organization, the
trust’s full funding comes from the public willing to donate for the well being
of the less fortunate families in the society. Some donations even come from
outside the country and at times from government allocations.
Just like many other NGOs in the world, Mission Heal is
focused on improving the standards of living for the underprivileged and
children in the society. Through the inspiration the trust has on people, many
are now getting involved in promoting and protecting social capital. This is
made possible through community mobilization and participatory governance.
Capacity building is another area where Mission Heal is
actively involved in by organizing community based organizations to look into
the special needs of individuals in the society. Self help groups and village education
committees are also used in mobilizing all members into participating in the
noble activities of the trust, ensuring that children's rights are protected,
all children educated and youths motivated on literacy programs so as to
promote their general well being. The needy children are thus able to get bursaries
allocated to them to pursue their studies. Beyond that, the trust also
distributes equipment's to schools to enable easy learning of all the learners.
It is the role of the Mission Heal to ensure that all schools have enough
teaching personnel to help the students learn in the most comfortable
environment.
Through extensive networking, support awareness campaigns
and forums, Mission Heal has managed to penetrate through the society to reach
all the women and children and ensure they have their rights protected and
above all ensuring their financial and economic liberation.
Mission Heal has also been keen in ensuring a healthy
working population is maintained. This is done through the provision of health
aid to the needy members of the society. There are various campaigns organized
and focused on ensuring this mission is accomplished such as blood donation,
children health checkups and organ donation camps. Preventive and curative
medication is also distributed by the medical professionals working with
Mission Heal to ensure all people in the society access decent medical care.
It is true that Mission heal has taken part in the provision
of various services as discussed above and to a greater extent helped boost the
standard of living for the needy in the society. However, this has been made
possible due to availability of enough funding from donors across the country
and even outside. The cash has been
availed from different fronts, making it possible for the trust to reach to the
needy in the society. You can also become part of the bigger family taking care
of the welfare of fellow members that can’t afford to sustain their lives on
their own.
