Mission Heal | Goal of Mission Heal In Democratic Governance And Development

Democratic governance is what every country in the world wants to build by all means. This is however set back by the fact that the various institutions developed are not responsive to the needs of the ordinary citizens more especially the poor and less privileged. Mission Heal has therefore come in to help strengthen various systems in government including the legislative and electoral systems by ensuring easy access to justice and public administration among others. The main goal of Mission Heal in democratic governance is however to develop capacities that will deliver various services to those that deserve and in need.

The various programs organized by Mission Heal are focused on bringing people together and fostering partnerships that are focused on improving the quality of life for every citizen including the poor and less privileged. By ensuring proper participation and accountability at all levels, the goal of achieving a democratic government is not far from reality, a government that believes in inclusion and free and fair election processes together with the participation of women on all fronts.

The Mission also rolls out a program where polling clerks are trained so that they can handle the polling process in a more credible manner so as to increase public confidence in the whole process. This will in turn improve voter turnout which will have a great impact on bringing about a change as deemed fit by the electorate. This however does not stop there as the organization goes ahead to monitor the election process till the results are out hence ensuring transparency in all aspects.

Engagement with informal justice systems is critical for all people in the society. Building institutions that respect human rights and observe justice to the end is what Mission Heal looks forward to achieve through its participatory governance together with other like-minded organizations. The poor and less privileged need to be empowered on legal fronts so that they can seek justice any time they want without any complications or prejudice. Opportunities will in turn be expanded, which will contribute to faster development of the society. The rule of law and access to justice is ensured and guaranteed to all, irrespective of the social status of an individual thus promoting democratic rights for everybody, including women, youth, marginalized, vulnerable groups and children among others.

The only way the government can achieve great prosperity and bring change to the lives of all people is by connecting people to each other and the government itself. People should therefore freely raise their opinions to the government through a well structured communication system. This is what Mission Heal is doing together with other stakeholders in building clear channels of communications such that every citizen’s voice is heard. Capacity building and networking work a great way in raising awareness amongst people of their rights to access of information among several other rights.

For development to be realized in all fronts of government, Mission Heal has set all its objectives in line with millennium goals set by the government so as to achieve the best for the country and more especially the poor and needy in society. Some of the objectives set by Mission heal include;

·        Eradicating poverty and hunger

·        Prevention of HIV and other diseases

·        Improve mental health

·        Promote gender equality

·        Improve quality of education among several others.

Achieving these goals and many others as set by the organization, Mission Heal will have improved the quality of life for the entire community.
